Considered the most prestigious recognition for marketing leaders in Germany, the award has been presented annually by HORIZONT since 2014 to highlight the importance of marketing leadership.

The “CMO of the Year” is truly by CMOs for CMOs: a council of around 100 leading marketing executives from the DACH region nominates candidates, from which a jury of experts selects the winner. The award celebrates excellence in marketing leadership and recognizes qualities such as success, courage, and personality.

Being part of the Top 10 highlights the joint ambition of Thorsten Mühl and Yvonne Wutzler: driving growth through focused strategies, bold brand building, and best-in-class product development – powered by a team that delivers with passion and precision. They are also shaping the future of digital marketing by turning platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, and Roblox into immersive brand experiences.

When it comes to brand activations, they continue to push boundaries: with essence at gamescom, cosnova became the first beauty brand to step into Europe’s biggest gaming space. And with Catrice’s “Own Your Gaze” campaign, they continue to evolve the way beauty is experienced and expressed.

In the second half of 2020, these were at record levels of 40 % in Germany overall (source: Nielsen, in unit sales).
