Perfect Fit in Skincare – cosnova expands its portfolio with the acquisition of Spanish skincare specialist Niche Beauty Lab. The acquisition, effective as of January 14, strategically strengthens the family-owned company’s skincare portfolio.

Strategic Complement with a Long-Term Perspective
Founded in 2018, Niche Beauty Lab develops high-performance, science-based skincare products in its own laboratories. The company markets its products through the brands Transparent Lab, Theramid, and Acnemy, which are already successfully established in several European markets – including Germany – and enjoy strong consumer demand. The focus lies on effective ingredients, transparent communication, and a strong digital community.

The global skincare market has been one of the fastest-growing segments in the beauty industry for years. With this acquisition, cosnova complements its portfolio, which has so far been strongly focused on color cosmetics, with a skincare specialist and thus addresses new target groups.

cosnova Beauty wins with consumers in the pandemic year of 2020. cosnova Beauty looks back on a strong performance despite a challenging Corona year for the decorative cosmetics industry: the essence and CATRICE brands showed significantly higher sales compared to the cosmetics market, gaining 4.5 % (December 2019 vs. December 2020) in further share on the German market alone. In the second half of 2020, these were at record levels of 40 % in Germany overall (source: Nielsen, in unit sales).
